British watercolour artist John Hoar

Why is this watercolour in my blog?
Well, I like very much the way John is able to simplify so dramatically.
It makes his work so fresh, the brushwork is so obvious and intense.
It happens that it surprised me how similar is his subject
to my painting "Heart House" tower at the University of Toronto.

  1. John Hoar is a master watercolour artist. This is the subject for his painting which he used as the cover theme for his book "Watercolour, fast and free". I had been looking at it much because the architecture is so similar to my "Hart House" that you see here and, yet, his approach is so free!
